What makes a poster work

Most people see your poster for a few seconds, often from a car. Every part of this layout is there for that moment.

  1. 1Five words, hugeLOST DOG in letters over an inch tall. Readable from a car at a stop sign.
  2. 2The face, bigHalf the page is the photo. People remember a face, not a description.
  3. 3One line that stands outName, breed, then one to three things like a red collar.
  4. 4Where and whenCross streets and a day. Never your home address.
  5. 5Phone on a solid bandThe second biggest text on the page, on red, so it pops from across the street.

How it works

    Add a photo

Pick a clear photo of the face from your phone and drag to center it.

Questions people ask

Is it really free?

Yes. The poster and the flyer are free forever, with no watermark and no signup. You can make as many as you need, in color or black and white, on Letter or A4. The only paid extra is the clean HD version of the social images (the Neighbor Alert Pack).

Do I need to sign up?

No. Add a photo, fill in four lines and download. We only ask for an email if you choose to buy the HD social images or want 3 extra free preview images.

What should I put on a lost pet poster?

A clear photo of the face, LOST plus the species in big letters, the name, one to three things that stand out (a collar, a marking), where and when they were last seen, and your phone number. That is it. Every extra sentence makes the poster harder to read from a car.

Should I include a reward? How much?

The word REWARD on its own is enough to make people stop and look. Leaving out the amount keeps you from attracting scammers who call only for money. You can always talk about the amount with someone who really has your pet.

What size should I print?

Letter in the US and Canada, A4 in the UK, Australia and most other places. We pick the right one for your country and you can switch it. Print at 100% ("Actual size") so nothing gets cut off.

How do I spot a lost pet reward scam?

Never send money before you see your pet. Ask the caller for a photo of your pet with something from today, and ask them to describe a detail you kept off the poster. Meet in a public place and bring someone with you.

Why this exists

When a pet goes missing, the poster should take one minute, not an hour of fighting a design app. So this site does one thing: it turns a photo and a few details into a clear, print-ready poster that people can read from across the street.

The poster is free and always will be. We pay for the site with the optional HD social images. More about us.
